Italian Herb Bread

I am always making sandwiches for breakfast, which is what drove me to try out bread making. I am also a fan of San Francisco's Ciabatta sandwich and anything smelling like Italian herbs so I decided to try making my own version of an Italian herb bread. I actually like the idea of making my own bread and one of the reasons is that I save $$$. not saying that buying a loaf of gardenia is expensive but making my own a a little less expensive but with much much more added goodness. No bread softener, no preservative, no emulsifier and nothing like industrial bread. Its all good!

4a.m. Nasi Lemak

Something which I made only just this Tuesday. As for the name...it really was because it occurred at 4 in the morning. I was supposed to wake up at 7 that morning but I guess I was so afraid that I would oversleep that I woke myself up! I thought it was already half past 7 and the alarm didn't ring but to my amazement...it was only 4 a.m. I tried to get myself back to bed, closed my eyes and told myself to get a bit more rest but all of a sudden the idea of making nasi lemak came to my mind. I defrosted some petai and calamari the night before as I wanted to make sambal petai for dinner that night...how fitting!!! So I jumped to my feet and went straight to the kitchen!!! It certainly was enjoyable!!! Most of all the aroma...which left the house smelling delicious the whole day through. There you go...my 4a.m. Nasi Lemak with sambal petai!

Nuttyfudgy Chocolate Cake

I have always been a slave for rich and dark chocolate cakes, sinfully downing them and dreadfully avoiding the weighing scale for the next 2 or 3 weeks...hence I began my search for a recipe...The Recipe... for rich and dark chocolate cake which isn't that sinful...This is a dark chocolate cake that is dairy, eggs and butter free...and is vegan too. It still has sugar though (obviously!!! won't have a cake that is tasteless!)...just that it won't be that bad having your third and fourth helping! :)

Super fluffy banana butter cake!

This...is the best butter cake that i've ever made in my whole entire life! To start off with my first post I'll start off with the basic butter cake which everyone loves. This is actually made with the basic...very very conventional...cream the butter and sugar recipe but I gave it a little errr sort of a...zesting up...make it a lil sexier!!! I added thinly sliced bananas into the batter...it turned out sexy and fabulous...the cake was so so fluffy and rich!
